"If you would like to learn how to fly solo before learning how to drive! Then by joining the Air Training Corps you could make that a reality"
Welcome
all to the website of 14F ‘Northolt’ Squadron Air Training Corps.
The
Air Training Corps (ATC) is an organisation for young people, not only
interested in aviation, but also outdoor activities, shooting and sports. It is
an organisation where you will be given the chance of taking part in many
activities you never thought possible.
As
you explore the web site you will be able to discover much more about how you
could be apart of the ATC. By
joining the ATC you get to join one of the largest youth organisations in the
UK. The last count had 40,000 cadets and 2,000 officers spread over a total of
1,000 squadrons nationwide (with some squadrons abroad).
From
the age of 13, you can join your squadron as a probationer, and at 13 years and
3 months you can be enrolled as a full member of your squadron.
Air Cadets, aged 13 to 20, and their supporting staff get the opportunity
to participate in a large range of stimulating and rewarding activities.
By
going Air Experience Flying you learn how to fly a light aircraft and later
learn to fly aerobatics. You can
visit Royal Air Force Stations both in the UK and overseas, play sports from
local to International level, become get qualified to fire target rifles and
become a target shooting marksman, learn the skills to lead expeditions helping
towards gaining your Duke of Edinburgh's Awards (the ATC is also the largest
operator of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme), learn aviation subjects and
have the option of working toward a BTEC in Aviation Studies.
These
and much more are readily available to you as a member of the Air Cadet
Organization, whether you are a cadet or staff member.
If
you are interested in what we do, aged 13 to 18, and wish to take a look, then
contact the squadron on 020 8833 8393, and arrange a visit.
Enjoy
the website and we hope to see you soon.
